I stopped eating pork and red meat back in August 2007. I was never a big dairy consumer and I don't like seafood. I should have went vegan a long time ago, but I didn't want to give up the chicken. I stopped eating pork and red meat due to a sociology lecture in college. I went home and watched, Meet Your Meat (see video below) and I haven't eaten either of the two since. In 2012 I read, By Any Greens Necessary, by Tracye Lynn McQuirter, and chapter 3 delivered me from the chicken. After finishing the book I was determined to go vegan and I did that day!
Everybody's transition will not be the same. It takes some people longer to switch by eliminating one or a few things from their diet at a time. Some can change instantly.
On Instagram (CandaceCandace) I post what I eat almost everyday. I will post what I eat on here also. The food/recipes can be found on the side bar to the right under Categories and My Vegan Life!
The above photo is brown rice, black beans, avocado, tomatoes, parsley flakes, and herbs. For herbs I used garlic powder, black pepper, dill weed, and of course the parsley flakes. You can use whatever herbs you like and add in your favorite vegetables.
